The Group owes its success
to the excellent term created by the Founder-Chairman - Dr. A. F. Pinto
. Today, the Group Management has
evolved into a cohesive and well- knit network of professionals. The strategy
to build a learning universe for the child implies systematic prioritisation of staff qualities such as flexibility,
innovative capacity and the ability to gather, systematise
and apply experience through-out Ryan School. These qualities are safeguarded
through continuous competence enhancement of the staff, peer reviews of
research and education and an organisational culture
which inspires venture spirit and encourages experimentation. The Group
function like a Mini Board of Educational Research Center has been set up to
study the pros & cons of various educational system.

more effective.
Why International
The present cyber age
is making the world smaller day by day. In the realm of education, we can no
longer remain complacent or confined to the territorial limits of cities,
states or nations.
Cross fertilization of ideas and teaching methods are relevant to education, so
that our future citizens can face the challenges of an international interface.
Foreign cultures, language, etiquettes, etc., need to be
understood. Developing adjustment
capabilities in environmental evolution becomes crucial for success.
Ryan International Schools provide multi-options for learning foreign languages
and cultures while retaining Indian values.
Ryan International Schools have become ideal institutions with professional
expertise & vast experience in management of education, essential to meet
the growing & challenging needs of preparing the future citizens of
tomorrow.
Education is only a ladder to pluck fruits from the tree of knowledge, not the
fruit itself. The Group is constantly involved in learning from others and
sharing its experiences with other educational institutions.
Top management including the Founder-Chairman, Dr. A.F. Pinto, visit
internationally renowned schools in India and abroad, and put into practice
several new ideas and concepts absorbed in the process.
An Exchange Program involves both students & teachers, at national &
international level. The feedback is personally monitored by the
Founder-Chairman and feasible ideas implemented by coordinators.
Mission
St. Xaviers
and Ryan group of schools have been setup with a mission of 'Education for all'
and 'Excellence in education', by Dr A F Pinto. The St. Xaviers
group of schools is concentrated around the Mumbai region while Ryan schools
were set up first in
The philosophy is that Education fails unless the 3Rs - Reading, Writing and
Arithmetic and the 3Hs - Hearts, Hands and Heads ultimately lead to the 4Ps
Preparation for earning, Positive approach to living, Preparation for understanding
and Participation for making a better world
Future plans
The group with over 1,25,000 students and a staff of 7000, today, has a
nation-wide presence. With a successful track record behind it, the group has
ambitious expansion plans. It has chalked out a plan to establish more schools
throughout the country to a total of 119. Besides this the other projects that
are in the pipeline are fully residential schools for NRIs,
multipurpose schools for imparting vocational training in fields like computers,
marketing, fine arts etc., Polytechnic institutes, talent development schools,
recreation centres and sports clubs.

The management has put
together a highly qualified team of professionals who incessantly work with
dedication and devotion to expand the horizons of knowledge and education to
all sections of the society.
Love, care, efficiency, responsibility and dedication are the hallmarks of the
Ryan teachers. They are made to undergo refresher course to update themselves
on modern pedagogical methods.
Curriculum and Teaching Methods
The group has adopted a
policy of framing common syllabi for all its schools. To this effect a special
education centre has been setup, which examines the pros and cons of the
educational system and constantly introduces new innovations to make the
teaching-learning process more effective.
The focus is on reducing the dependence on the examination system to discourage
rote learning and to accelerate the overall development of the child's
personality. Different approaches are used for different age groups of pupils.
For example Pre-primary students are taught the alphabet through phonetics and
primary pupils are engaged in the learning process via dramatisation,
role-play, projects etc. Vocational guidance is given to the students by
trained counsellors to enable them to think ahead and
face the future with confidence. Parents are also made aware of the progress
and achievements of their wards through 'Open House Sessions' which allows them
to interact with the teachers.
An Exchange program involving both teachers and students at both the national
and international level has also been initiated to facilitate sharing of ideas
and experiences, with other learning institutions.

Dr Pinto, the Founder Chairman of St.
Xaviers and Ryan group of schools, is a visionary and pioneer in the field of
education. He took up the task of spreading awareness of literacy and providing
the necessary infrastructure needed to realise his dream. Dr Pinto defines
education as ' the process of organising and developing in a systematic way,
the intellect of the human being, such that he/she is capable of assimilating,
understanding and deciding the course of action, to achieve a pre-set goal.'
Dr Pinto had the dream of eradicating literacy, right from his formative years.
He started by setting up a makeshift structure and himself taught the students
and to promote the awareness of literacy. The first St. Xaviers school was
established in 1983 and Ryan International school was set up in 1991 at Mayur
Vihar.
His vision of Education is totally child oriented. Believing firmly in All
Round development of personality, Dr Pinto emphasises the participation of each
and every child in the various stage and field activities. The entire academic
curriculum is based on group activities, which ensures fun while earning.
He believes strongly in Value Education, which will raise Godly Children who
will grow up to be Godly men and women in society. For this purpose he has set
up a professional and dedicated team of principals and teachers. He regularly
visits the schools of his educational family and helps cement the bond of love
and respect between the teachers and students. His visits are events much
looked forward to by staff and students alike.

As a Sheriff of Mumbai, Dr A F Pinto has also undertaken the task of
establishing Eco-friendly clubs throughout the country organising various
Eco-friendly drives and campaigns.

and above all a personal touch with the entire hierarchy, lie behind the
success of this eminent personality.

Madame Grace Pinto, the director of St. Xaviers and Ryan group
of schools is synonymous with excellence, expertise, experience and all that

students. Never an occasion which is of importance in a child's curriculum goes
unattended by her. Welcoming foreign dignitaries and eminent guests to the
schools to enrich the learning of the teacher and the taught has always been
her prerogative.
She is a source of constant support and guidance for the principals and the
teachers. For the students, she is a friend, philosopher and guide who

Our commitment to
meaningful education is of prime importance. We provide quality education to
each every child of the school irrespective of caste, colour and creed.
Real education is what
ultimately is what ultimately remains, after one has forgotten all that one has
learnt in schools & collages. The initial years should develop in the child
a love for learning & create conditions for him to purse a positive
approach in life.
A unidirectional
teaching method is being increasingly substituted by a multidirectional group
workshop method. Here the teacher becomes the group coordinator, nurturing
students without phobia of examinations & homework.
Emphasis is laid on
the cultivation of all these dimensions of the mind, body & spirit &
not on mere cramming for the examination purpose. Development of oral &
written expressions require individual attention, which is emphasized upon.
Children are enabled to develop self-learning skills during classroom teaching
rather than compelled to depend upon private tuitions.
Gifted children are
identified and all facilities given for the full flowering of their potential.
Appropriate measures are taken for the children with learning disabilities like
dyslexia, etc.

The success of hosting the 1st
& 2nd sessions of INMUN at New Delhi led to it becoming an
annual feature on the annual calendar. The third session of INMUN was
attended by the various South Asian Countries and 550 students from 95
schools in India. The main objective of the INMUN was to make the youth aware
of the vital role played by the UN in the promotion of peace, prevention of
conflicts & human development projects.
INMUN was brought
about with idea that education is not physical commodity, it is vibrant and
living, a holystic and a broadband education which nourishes the entire being.
INMUN was an
experience to help students understand international problems, contribute to
its solution to attempt to usher in a New World order, to focus attention on
the prevention of environment and Human Rights.
INMUN gave the
students an opportunity to develop critical thinking and know the current
status of the world, and also of future possibilities and solutions. As
delegates of their countries, the students presented themselves as active and
responsible citizen of the local and the global community.
INMUN is an learning
experience for the student delegates who attended it.

In the present
scenario, education has come to be a complex interplay of the multiply
factors & is abuzz with ceaseless activities. It is a perfect place for
students to with their talents in an unfettered matter, to their optimal degree
of performance.
With the trust, Annual
Theatre Festival at different venues in the country led the hosting of 1st
& 2nd National Children's Theatre Festival, New Delhi in
which the students from our school has participated.
It is here that the
vibrant, warm & loving qualities of the children can find scopes for the
expressions, thus helping the students to charter a new scopes.
There are various
dramatic clubs in our school & the stress is on activity based education.
Use of appropriate body language, direction, voice modulation & expressions
are sharpened through various theatre workshops.
To hold Theatre
Festivals is of utmost importance as it leads to flights of imaginations &
spontaneity of expressions.

In the fast changing & expanding world of education, the
need to include information technology in the, main stream classroom teaching,
necessitated the setting up of a broadcasting channel at Chandigarh as an
experiment.
The success of the project, soon found its way into the Limca
Book of Records for being the 1st school in India to have its own
state-of-art in house broadcasting station withien the school premises.
The concept of "Education through Lens" took firm root
when Dr. A. F. Pinto & Mrs. Grace Pinto, with their insight &
pioneering spirit, exposed their students to the world of Information
Technology.
Students have attained near perfection in script writing.
Cinematography, online editing, floor management, direction of the program
& transmission to classrooms fitted with television sets to near
perfection.

Educations
prepares the citizens of tomorrow. Our future citizens must take up careers for
which they have a flair. Most students are unaware of the various career
available to them & stumble their way in life trying to discover what they
are best at. Trained student counselors using aptitud4e tests & a series of
other tests, help children in the process of selecting appropriate careers
taking into consideration their academic performance, interest &
aspirations. A guidance councilor emphasizes life skills, study skills &
decision making process.
Professionals
are invited from divide & spheres of life to bourdon the concepts of
careers & help students develop a realistic assessment & emerging
vocational alternatives.
